About Ariádne.

Ariádne, the former lead singer of the nu-soul band Mamilah, is excited to announce the release of her debut solo EP, Traces, on May 30, 2025. Produced by Ed Allen, Traces is a lush, soulful project that blends elements of Greek Rebetiko, Soul, R&B, Jazz, and Dance Music, taking Ariádne’s songwriting in a more experimental direction.

Mamilah was formed in 2017 while Ariádne and her bandmates were studying at Leeds College of Music. The band, described by Clash Magazine as one of the pioneering groups in the Leeds underground jazz scene, released three EPs over four years. Mamilah’s debut EP ‘Moonlight Walking’, independently released in 2018, followed their first single ‘Sun Drips’ and was included by Chaka V. Grier in his “Best Soul of August 2018”. Tracks from the EP enjoying regular airtime on Alan Raw’s ‘BBC Introducing in West Yorkshire’, and the band was highlighted as one of his ‘ones to watch in 2019.’

Their debut EP, Moonlight Walking (2018), was followed by Talk Less (2020) and Old Parade (2022). The band enjoyed regular airtime on BBC Introducing, Jazz FM, and other notable platforms. Mamilah has toured extensively across the UK, sharing stages with KOKOROKO, Kool & The Gang, Yazmin Lacey, Galaxians, and Craig Charles.

On Traces...

Ariádne’s EP Traces is an intimate exploration of identity, heritage, love, and loss. Each track weaves together personal stories and universal emotions, from the lasting imprints of human connection in the title track, to the quiet strength of unspoken love in Nothing My Heart Didn’t Say. Through reflections on family, dual heritage, and grief, Ariádne invites listeners into a deeply personal yet resonant journey. Blending evocative lyricism with a rich sonic palette—from Greek bouzouki to experimental R&B textures—Traces is both a tribute to her roots and a testament to the emotional depth that defines her artistry.
